Digna Cabral

Through her history of service, Digna has learned that proper leadership in government is important, and leaders should carry with them the reasons why many residents choose the city of Doral to raise their families while supporting and representing initiatives that will benefit the residents of our beautiful city.

Digna works as a Sr. Research Analyst for the Department of Neurology at the University of Miami for more than 10 years. Through her career she has been able to collaborate with various national and international Universities.  Board member and former Chair of the American Institute in Ultrasound of the United State (AIUM) for 6 years.

The City of Doral is ingrained in Digna and her family, as the community in which her youngest daughter was born, and her two oldest children received their education. She remains active in her parish, serving as a certified Catechist of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church since 2008, member of the Altar Servers minister and Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion at Our Lady of Guadalupe parish. This dedicated fervor to others can be followed to Digna’s beginnings in her homeland of the Dominican Republic.

Digna’s belief that her values and principles, honesty, and humility are as strong as or even stronger than any business contract, this was instilled by her parents, and led to a desire to advocate for our Doral community.

Digna Cabral, committed to serving the residents of Doral

First elected in 2018 as our Council member, seat 4, Digna Cabral is an active member of the City of Doral community, devotedly serving the betterment of others. Her dedication and commitment to various areas of the City of Doral have provided her the ability to understand many of the needs and concerns of the residents.

Having resided in the City of Doral for over 14 years as a concerned resident and community leader and her passionate call to serve others, is Digna’s greatest belief and can be displayed throughout her history of community support.

Digna has a proven track record of working for our community. As our Councilwoman and Digna has:

  • Voted to attract more hospitals and health services to our City.
  • Voted for Park expansions and improvements, including walking and biking trail expansions.
  • Voted for Green Space requirements for new developments.
  • Collaborated with the Small Business Administration District Office to promote Doral’s priority business clusters.
  • Championed our Smart City certification and promoted our resources.
  • Voted for and promoted Public Art programs.

Digna is a diligent member of the City of Doral Rotary Club and has served as a member of Las Damas del Doral, an organization providing assistance to families of the Ronald McDonald House at Jackson Memorial Hospital, former Vice Chair of the Parks and Police 4Kids Committee, President of the Master Association at Coronado of Doral for more than 7 years, former Chair at Coronado at Doral Community Development District (current director) and secretary of the Doral Community Coalition.

Digna has additionally served as a member of the Dr. Rolando Espinosa and Doral Academy School PTA and EESAC and currently is a Board member of Family/Community Engagement at the Florida State Parents/Teacher Association (PTA), and serve as President of the Dr. Toni Bilbao Preparatory Academy PTA. She has also spearheaded initiatives to the individuals unfortunately affected by the destruction wrought from Hurricane Irma, which affected not only her City of Doral, but other cities in Florida.

During these difficult times she, personally, assisted residents of our city and actively participated in the cleaning process of not only her community but other Doral neighborhoods as well. In addition, and with the support of the residents of our city she participated in different activities to collect water, nonperishable food, clothes and other items to displaced individuals and their families affected during hurricane Maria (including the Island of Puerto Rico).

Digna Cabral has been a resident of Doral for over 14 years. Devoting her time to the community and those in need, Digna has a passion and call to serve those in need, as well as the less fortunate.

Traffic and Transit

Digna will strive to find creative solutions to address the many traffic and transportation issues that plague our community. She will devote initiative to resolve transit problems.

Community Growth

Digna’s focus is on the residents of Doral. She represents the goals and objectives of the community on the dais and will work toward a strategic, planned and controlled development of the City of Doral.

Focus on Education

As member of the Florida State PTA and President of Dr. Toni Bilbao preparatory academy PTA, and then as your Councilwoman  Digna will ensure that the future generations of Doral will receive the best possible level of academic education working together with our school district.

Service of the Community

As an advocate for her community, Digna has consistently shown dedication to the service of her community. Her relationship with the residents of Doral will ensure that her goals and objectives are the same as yours and that will become a reality.

Representing the People

Digna’s ultimate goal as our councilwoman for the City of Doral has been to represent the interests of the residents in the city of Doral. She will continue acting as an archetype for the resident of the city of Doral, devoted to an ethical and unbiased performance.
